Ron Jorgensen

Barrister

Ron Jorgensen principally consults on Commonwealth and State tax laws, tax dispute resolution and compliance enforcement.

Ron specialises in trusts and trust disputes, succession and asset protection, business and investment structuring and tax sensitive commercial and property development transactions.

He is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), an Accredited Specialist in Tax Law and a respected technical writer and presenter.

Ron is admitted in Tasmania (1994), in Victoria (1996) and in the High Court of Australia (1996) and has a Bachelor of Arts and Laws (BA-LLB, Tas (1993)) and a Master of Laws in Commonwealth Taxation (LLM, Melb (2003)). Ron signed The Tasmanian Bar Roll in 2023.

He is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania, the Law Institute of Victoria and The Tax Institute.  Ron is a member of the Property and Commercial Law Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania and a member of the Tax Law Advisory Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria. Ron is Vice Chair of the State Council and a member of State Taxes Committee (Tasmania) of The Tax Institute. Ron has previously held positions on the Tax Technical Committee (Victoria), the States Taxes Committee (Victoria) and the Victorian State Taxes Consultative Council for The Tax Institute and as a Senior Fellow, University of Melbourne, lecturing in Tax Practice: Writing Effectively. 

Ron was recognised by Doyle’s Guide Leading Tax Lawyer – Victoria for 2015 to 2023 and Best Lawyers for tax law – Australia for 2021 to 2023.
